The Pond Filter Falls oxygenates pond water through a spray bar, mechanically filters the water as it passes through 3 hanging brush filters and mechanical filter media pad and finally biological filtration through Biospheres. This pond filter features a spillway for starting a high volume waterfall. Uses 1 1/2" hose. Good for ponds up to 5000 gallons. 2000 to 3000 gph pump recommended (not included). Measures 33" (L) x 20" (W) x 20" (H). Can be combined with a Power Flo Skimmer Filter to increase capacity up to 10,000 gallons (larger pump may be required).

Well designed & made

Pros:
Well Designed, Sturdy
Cons:
Drips a little
Seemed a little expensive, but as an engineer & pond enthusiast I have been impressed with design & construction. Large (50 gallons)& heavy duty enough for me to sit on top of it if desired. I have packed it with a variety of graduated sized media & bio balls due to a large fish load (about 50 medium koi). Does a great job of oxygenating the water with the venturi & spray bar (before filtering it for best biological action). I am using it with a 2900 gal/hr Laguna power jet pump. Sometimes necessary to throttle back the pump with a gate valve when the media gets too dirty and the filter starts to overflow through the top slots (made for this purpose) that are under the cover. Pretty easy to clean and can go for a month or two between cleanings, depending on the season. I thought about buying another one to use as a large master filter for my four large indoor aquariums but it drips a little at the bulkheads and could possbly overflow if cleaning is omitted too long - not really made for totally dry indoor useage.
