Saltwater Eels for Aquariums

With a snake-like appearance and a mouth full of dangerous, sharp teeth, Saltwater Eels have a very menacing appearance but are beloved by those who keep them in a home aquarium. These carnivores are known for their bad eyesight and use their keen sense of smell to aid in finding food. Large, chunky food, such as shrimp and scallops, are good food for eels, and feeding them with a tool designed for feeding aggressive fish will be safest for fingers. Some eels can reach enormous size even in captivity, so research adult sizing before selecting a pet eel.
