Much like other rainbows, the Boesmani is colorful as an adult and is very active through all stages of its life. This fish will be most comfortable in groups, so four or more are recommended. Rainbows are a fantastic fish for the beginning aquarist who has a 50 gallon or larger tank. Flake, pellet, and frozen food will all be readily accepted by this fish. Rainbows are active swimmers which usually swim at mid level in the aquarium, so they work well with both bottom and top dwelling fish as tank mates.
