Keep Flies & Mosquitoes Away from Your Dog
Dogs can attract flies and mosquitoes, especially if they have an open wound. These unwanted pests cause annoyance and can spread diseases to your pup, including heartworm. Flies bite dog ears or swarm wounds. When flies attack, they leave bloody bites that become infected. Your dog may rub their ears or body raw of hair to relieve the discomfort. Mosquitoes are not picky as to which part of your dog they will bite. The pain does not last long, but there is a risk of mosquitoes spreading heartworm to your dog. Using sprays or ointments to repel flies and mosquitoes is your best defense.
