AquaClear 200 & Mini

Pros:
Very tough, strong, and beastly little motor
Cons:
Motor quits running after a power failure and overheats
I have two AquaClear 200s and one Mini, and I've had them for a while now, but before me, they were my mothers, well, they still are, but I'm using them now, but anyways, When we have a power outage, junk get clogged up in the motor, and when the power is back, the motor won't run, and it's been like that for hours at a time. I don't know at the time, but it never burns up, though gets very hot. But for those who don't know, I have a trick to clean the motor. Twist the motor off the body of the filter when empty of water, and pull out the little impeller. You will notice that it can be slippery at times, but you have to be patient. It WILL eventually come out of the motor. You will probably find junk in the magnets and coils, and this is your problem, so wash the motor in warm water, this will NOT hurt the motor, but you do have to completely dry it out. And wolla! Good as new. If it still wont work, well, I can't help you there.

Simply The Best! (AC110)

Pros:
Massive movement of water , reliability , space for media
Cons:
When I find one I'll let ya know
I've used these as my primary filters for years , and none of them have ever failed me! The 110s have massive amounts of room for media of your choice ,and it moves huge amounts of water. Make sure you put some sort of prefilter on the intake tube if you have small to medium fish!!!

AC10 A Great Deal

Pros:
Very easy to use and maintenance. Simple to add youe own media, very quiet, and excellent keeping tank clean and crystal clear
Cons:
Could use a little longer intake tube
I have always used ML bio wheel filters, and have loved them. I have many friends who swear by the AquaClears so I thought I'd give one a try. I have had over a year now on a 20 Tall and I have to admit it was one of the best HOB's I have ever used. Very simple to set up, maintenance, and easy to use my own media. I have been in the hobby over 40 years and I now highly recommend these.

Very quite and perfect

Pros:
Cons:
I have 5 fish tanks at home. The only filter that I used on them is the AquaClear Power. It works perfect on my marine as well on my fresh water. My aquariums are healthy and clear. I can not be more happy with these filters. They are silence and very effective. Some of them I have for years now.

Almost care free!

Pros:
Extreamly clean clear water
Cons:
none
I have two of these filters in two different tanks and I couldn't be happier with them. They are almost care free except for the occasional rinse during water changes. I do not use the carbon insert because the biological column seems to be all the tanks need as they have crystal clear water, no odor and great parameters. Best HOB filters I have ever owned. (I have a Fluval C series and of course the ones that come with a tank setup for comparison.)

CanNOT be beat!

Pros:
Efficient filtering, easy to maintain
Cons:
Can't think of any (Because they're aren't any!)
I run two of these filters on my tank. They are efficient and easy to clean/replace media. The media "basket" makes it very easy to remove charcoal when necessary for some chemicals and/or medicines. They have a good strong flow and are noiseless. All we hear is the gentle sound of trickling water.

AquaClear 110

Pros:
Easy to clean, works well
Cons:
Great filter! I decided to go with an AC 110 for a new tank because I have an AC 20 running in a smaller tank that has been the best filter I've had yet. The AquaClear 110 does a good job keeping my 90 gal tank clear and is easy to maintain. Although the basket is a little harder to put in and take out at first than in the smaller filter, after a little practice you can easily get the hang of it.

Long lasting filter

Pros:
the best
Cons:
plastic case color, wish it were black
I have had these running now for years. I have been impressed with how long they last, the amount of media held and the fact I dont have to buy disposable cartridges. A simple rinse of the sponge in tank water is pretty much all you need when cleaning. This will save a lot over years of fishkeeping. The sponge will need replacement on occasion but usually that is quite a time down the road. Great filter, highly recommended!

Powerful and Easy to Care For Power Filter

Pros:
Powerful, Easy to Maintain
Cons:
I've been using two of these filters in my new 29 gallon acrylic tank for over three months now and I haven't experienced any problems with them. They are easy to clean, seem very powerful, and appear to keep the water clear. My fish seem health and happy with the water quality. The filter is well worth the cost and after doing much research on what is the best hang-on-the-back power filter, this brand was one of the top 2 brands I could come up with. I am very happy with my choice.

Best Hang-on-Back Filter There Is

Pros:
Low Maintenance & Cost Over Time
Cons:
None
The AquaClear Filters are by far the best HOB filter you can buy. They force the water up THROUGH the media creating a highly efficient system. Unlike all other HOB that I have found, these do not require new filter pads every 2-4 weeks, etc. I don't use carbon, but that will always need to be replaced often. You can't beat this though.
