Notes:  Linckia sea stars move across live rock or the aquarium glass looking for microscopic life forms to eat.  They will also consume detritus when available.  Careful acclimation and excellent water quality is demanded by this species for success.  A common parasite of Linckia sp. are Thyca crystallina snails.  These snails attach themselves to the underside of the star and feed off of the star.  Thyca snails are camouflaged to match the star, but are visible when inspected for.  If found, the snail's) should be removed before adding the star to your aquarium.
