The Zebra Danio is a hardy, active aquarium fish which can withstand a variety of water temperatures and water conditions -- even poor water conditions. Originating from flowing streams along the coast of India, it prefers clean, well-aerated water with a high level of movement. Danios prefer to travel in schools and, if kept singly, can become bored and pick on other fish, but typically without any real damage.
