Zebra Catalina Goby
Zebra Catalina Goby, Lythrypnus zebra, is a California and Mexican native that is a great choice for non-aggressive, community aquariums. Also known as the Zebra Goby, this fish displays no aggression toward other fish, corals, or invertebrates, but care should be taken to ensure that other species do not pick on it. With a maximum length of between 2 and 3 inches, its size makes it perfect for large and for small aquariums. Groups of Zebra Catalina Gobies typically do fine, especially if given plenty of room. It has a vivid red-orange color with numerous blue-purple vertical stripes. This species has a somewhat elongated dorsal ray fin that many other Goby family members also display. It will accept a variety of foods including Brine Shrimp and bloodworms, and will typically accept flake food fairly easily.
