Yellow Watchman Goby
Yellow Watchman Gobies, Cryptocentrus cinctus, are found living in several reefs of the Indo Pacific region. This bright yellow Goby is one of several Shrimp Gobies found in the oceans. If present, this fish will gladly share its sand bed burrow with a Pistol Shrimp Alpheus. It will also build burrows in the absence of a Pistol Shrimp; helping to keep the sand bed well stirred. Also known by the names Yellow Prawn Goby and Gold Watchman, it readily adapts to a diet of frozen or live shrimp such as Mysid or Brine Shrimp. Their antics in the aquarium will amuse most hobbyists.
