Vanderbilt Chromis
Vanderbilt Chromis, Chromis vanderbilti, is an uncommon and outstanding schooling fish sometimes made available to PetSolutions form various locations, typically Fiji or Tonga. It has a golden fluorescing body with scales tipped in blue. Depending on the specimen, the fins will be black or blue. Shades on orange or pink will also be displayed on the bodies of some Vanderbilt Chromis. The Chromis genus are omnivores that thrive with a variety of prepared and frozen foods. They are hardy and reef safe and will swim actively at all levels of the aquarium. Many Chromis do fine singularly, but prefer to be in groupings. The Vanderbilt Chromis is of the latter: schools of four or more should do best – and six or more is better, as space allows. The activity of a school of Chromis can help shy fish feel more secure and can help shy fish, in turn, spend more time swimming in the open. Because of its maximum size of around 2.5”, Vanderbilt Chromis is a great fish for smaller fish-only or reef aquariums. This fish is peaceful and is a great fish for aquarists of all experience levels.
