Perhaps due to its darkened body and smooth edged fins, the Leporacanthicus cf. Galaxies is also known as the Vampire Plecostomus. Found in Brazilian rivers, this pleco can reach 8-10 inches in length and has a “thickened” body with a sharp, angular tail fin. The body is a deep chocolate brown with multiple yellow/gold spots over the entire body and fins. The eyes appear to be set back further from the blunt nose, giving it a slightly sinister look.
