Unicorn Tang Juv.
The Naso unicornis is also known as the Bluespot Unicorn Tang and is found in the Indo-Pacific. In the wild it can obtain a length of 27 inches. Aquarium specimens rarely reach this length however. Juveniles can be housed in tanks 75 gallons or larger. This is an active swimmer and will require lots of open space, though it may still retreat to rock caves on occasion. Its diet should be vegetable-based prepared foods and fresh zucchini, broccoli and spirulina. A constant grazer, it should be fed several times a day. It is only aggressive towards its own kind and is generally a "reef safe" fish, assuming the tank is large enough. The caudal spine is permanently erect, so care should be taken when handling.
