Tanganyikan Cichlid PH range is 7.4 to 9.4 and several products are available to handle this requirement. N. tretocephalus has a carnivorous diet filled primarily by invertebrates, including snails. When a mated pair is ready for breeding a cave should be provided as well as their own aquarium. These cichlids become overly territorial when spawning and share duties in guarding the young.
