Threadfin Rainbow
The long flowing fins of the Threadfin Rainbow, Iriatherina Werner, is a beautiful, calming addition to your aquarium. The males in particular have spectacular long threads extending from their dorsal and anal fins. These schooling fish originated in Asia and Australia. They are best suited for the Intermediate level aquarist. This Rainbow is a hardy, peaceful, community safe fish, which will grow up to 2". The ideal environment for the Threadfin is a ten gallon well planted aquarium with dark colored gravel to intensify their brown/gold color. Tank temperature range should be 72-77° F. He is an omnivore meaning he requires both algae-based (flake) & meaty foods (freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex, & brine shrimp). When feeding remember the “Featherfin” Rainbow has a large mouth and its’ throat tends to be narrow, so feed small morsels.
