Most Synodontis catfish (sometimes known as upside down catfish) are nocturnal, so they are primarily active at dusk and at night. These fish are generally easy to care for, and get along well with other fish as long as the other fish are not small enough for the Synodontis to eat when they get larger. It is very important to provide plenty of decorations and hiding places for this fish so that during the day it can hide in the darker areas of the tank and feel secure.
