Synodontis Lace Catfish
Synodontis Lace Catfish, Synodontis nigrita, is one of the most popular of this species, growing to a typical captive length of around four inches. Often mistaken for the Upside Down Catfish, it is a unique gray color with dark spots. It usually found singly, hiding out in caves during the day. It can make a good scavenger for an African Cichlid aquarium, though some older, established specimens may not tolerate other Synodontis cats. It needs to be treated as a smooth skin catfish when treating for parasite infestations. The diet of the Synodontis Lace Cat should include meaty foods (blood worms) and some vegetable based sinking pellets. If properly maintained, the this fish can live for many years.
