Like most Squirrel fish, the Striped Squirrel prefers low light conditions and may actually hide during daylight. It prefers to be in small groups and is generally considered nonaggressive towards other medium to large fish. Its diet consists of shrimp, other crustaceans and crabs. In the aquarium it will accept meaty foods like Krill, Clam, Mysis Shrimp and other seafoods.
