This odd looking fish is a sure conversation piece in any aquarium. A fantastic display of fins and stripes, it will do its best to blend into the rockwork of any aquarium it is kept in. This fish is considered reef safe where corals are concerned, but extreme care must be used when considering the addition of this fish to a reef tank that contains shrimp or small fish. The normal feeding behavior of this fish is to lay still and blend in with the rocks, and then ambush any small crustacean or fish that comes too close to it. It is a carnivore with a healthy appetite. Some anglers can also be converted to chunky frozen foods, so it is advisable to keep frozen squid, krill, or silversides on hand if conversion to frozen is your desire.
