Speckled Kingsnake
Speckled Kingsnakes (Lampropeltis getulus holbrooki) are native to the prairies, woodlands, marshes and estuaries of Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Missouri. They eat a wide variety of preys including snakes, lizards, amphibians, birds, and rodents. Kingsnakes are well known for their tail rattling behaviours and their ability to consume venomous snakes. Because they consider other snakes as possible prey, they should be housed singly.
