Scolymia Brain Coral

Scolymia Brain Coral is just as commonly called Button Coral. A member of the Scolymia Species, its appearance can vary greatly with color ranging from green to Red to yellow while its shape can be concave, flat, or convex. Its preferences are for a medium water flow and medium lighting. Its preferred placement is on the bottom of the home aquarium where its tentacles have room to extend. Its tentacles can reach to a distance approximately equal to the diameter of the corals main body and it will likely harm any corals with which it comes in contact. As with most other members of Large Polyp Stonys, maintaining a proper calcium level is an important key to successful development. It will definitely benefit from occasional target feedings of plankton or brine shrimp.
