Scissortail Goby
Scissortail Goby, Ptereleotris evides, is a great aquarium choice for the non-aggressive, community aquarium - either fish-only or reef. Also known as the Black Fin Dartfish, this fish displays no aggression toward other fish, corals, or invertebrates, but care should be taken to ensure that other species do not pick on it. Its maximum size in the wild is around 5.5 inches. The Scissortail Goby prefers clean water and plenty of room to dart about. It has a a blue-gray coloration with black marking on the edge of the fins and on the snout. Smaller sizes sometimes display a black eye spot on the lower rear fin. This fish is a jumper and requires a covered aquarium. It will accept a variety of foods including Brine Shrimp and bloodworms, and will typically accept flake food fairly easily.
