SCWD Wavemakers

Now available in two versions, the SCWD (Switching Currents and Water Direction) provides an easy method to produce alternating currents in the aquarium. The SCWD accepts water from your pump and then directs it to two outlets, automatically alternating between them to create a wave motion in your aquarium.

The 3/4” SCWD uses 3/4” Hose Barb fittings and is designed to be used with pumps rated between 50 to 1400 GPH. Place the SCWD between your return pump and two return outlets, and the SCWD will automatically switch between the two outlets creating a smooth wave motion.

The 1” SCWD has 1” FPT fittings to allow connections with PVC pipe or be adapted to a Hose Barb. This 1” SCWD can use pumps rated 700-3500 GPH and even with high flow rates will have a longer period for the switching rate. A longer interval between switching cycles means better water movement penetration to the extreme areas of larger aquariums, providing your corals, invertebrates, and plants with longer periods of time between shifting currents. The 1” SCWD has a removable cap to allow cleaning and even changing of the drive assembly.
