The Rosette Sword requires moderate lighting, HO, VHO, or power compact will be fine and T5 lighting would also work well. This plant is a slow grower like other swords. It is important to know when planting a sword, that only the roots should be planted, and the bottom part of the sword called the crown should not go below the substrate surface. The crown will rot resulting in the death of the sword if it is planted too deeply. It is normal for swords to lose leaves after arrival, and new growth will be seen in the center of the plant. This is due to the plants being grown with hydroponics. Swords get their nutrients from their roots, and not through the leaves.
