Rock Beauty Angel
The Holacanthus tricolor or Rock Beauty Angelfish is a beautiful but demanding aquarium fish. Found in the Western Atlantic, its primary diet is marine sponges. While it will adapt to prepared foods, it will do best when its diet includes a lot of vegetable matter (algae or spirulina) and some sponge with live sponge to eat. Like to be somewhat shy initially, it requires a fair amount of rock work in which to find secluded spots. Mature coloration will have a yellow head region with a purple/black mid-body and a bright yellow tail. Not a "reef safe" Angelfish, it may become territorial towards other Angelfish.
