Regani Julie Cichlid
The Regani Julie Cichlid, Julidochromis regani, is endemic to the African rift lake Tanganyika. Like other freshwater fish from the rift lakes, aquarium water should be buffered to a specific pH level. For Tanganyikan Cichlids this range is 7.4 to 9.4 and several products are available to handle this requirement. The breeding stock of this fish hails from the Sumbu region. J. regani has a carnivorous diet primarily made of small invertebrates, including snails. When a mated pair is ready for breeding a cave should be provided. The pair will take turns guarding the young. All captive raised cichlids offered by Pet Solutions are first generation offspring (F1) from wild caught stock. This allows us to offer the brightest colored cichlids available.
