The body of this fish is peach with a visible red stripe on its sides, which is where it gets its common name from. Adults of this fish have been known to swim upside down on occasion, so if this behavior is observed in captivity do not be alarmed. The Red Stripe Anthias is primarily a carnivore, preferring meaty foods such as Mysis shrimp, zooplankton and other commercially available frozen foods. It will eat other food if nothing meaty is available, but that will only be as a last resort, or if only non meaty food is offered.
