Red Spotted Blenny
The Red Spotted Blenny (Istiblennius chrysospilos) originates in the Indo Pacific, off of the East coast of Africa and areas nearby. It is a peaceful fish, but is generally avoided in reef tanks due to the possibility that it may bother some coral polyps. This fish does best in a tank with plenty of rock to move in and around for shelter, and it will graze on the micro algae that often grows on the rock in addition to eating Spirulina based prepared fish foods for herbivores. Adult size for this fish can be up to 4.5 inches but generally doesn’t reach that size in the home aquarium.
Approximate arrival size: 2 to 3 inches
