A man-made hybrid between a couple of South American Cichlids (Red Devils & Severums??), the Red Parrot Cichlid has quickly become a popular aquarium fish. The body shape is similar to the Red Devil, only the head has been morphed into a very beak like structure, like a parrot head. The body color can start out gray with black stripes, but usually develops into a mostly solid red/orange color as adults. Not quite as aggressive as other South American Cichlids, the Parrot is still pushy with other cichlids and amongst themselves.
