Red Myrio
Red Myrio, Myriophyllum heterophyllum, is also known as Red Foxtail or Red Water Milfoil. The leaves of Myrios are quite thin and have a very soft appearance when gently brushed by the water currents. Red Myrio is a native of North America. The plant is recommended for aquatic gardeners with some experience because of its rapid growth rate., which has the effect of inhibiting algae by competing for the same nutrients. If pruning schedules are kept, the novice should have no problems with Red Myrio, as it is adaptable to a wide variety of water conditions. Reproduction is accomplished primarily through cuttings.
