Red Fin Fairy Wrasse
Red Fin Fairy Wrasse, Cirrhilabrus rubriventralis, appears in a great variety of color schemes leaning toward orange and red, with its exaggerated ventral fins being a deeper red. Also known as the Social Wrasse, it should be introduced simultaneously with any other members of the Fairy Wrasse family to help ensure the best chances for a harmonious coexistence. Hardy and long-lived once established, this carnivore adapts to aquarium life when offered a wide variety of meaty foods such as Brine Shrimp and zooplankton. Reaching each a mature size of around 3 inches the Red Fin Fairy Wrasse is highly recommended for a reef aquarium. A sand bed and Live Rock should be provided for all Fairy Wrasses. They will bury themselves in the sand to sleep or hide. Live Rock provides numerous small life forms that the Wrasses consider a tasty treat as well as being another place to hide when they feel threatened. Being “leapers", Fairy Wrasses require a covered aquarium.
