It is said that this fish is even kept in aquariums in its native homeland of India, something considered unusual for indigenous species from any part of the world. Normally not exceeding two inches in length, the Powder Blue Dwarf Gourami will eat most any dried, frozen, or live food. Live food - brine shrimp, tubifex worms, and bloodworms - will help keep this fish, the males in particular, in peak coloration.
