Pink Kissing Gourami
Pink Kissing Gourami, Helostoma rudolfi, was once thought to be an albino variation of the Green Kissing Gourami, H. temminckii, but is now recognized as a separate species. The attraction of this Thai-Malaysian native is in watching a pair of them "kiss." The function of this kissing action is not known, but it is amusing nonetheless. The Kissing Gourami is an avid eater who enjoys plenty of space and a bit of a warmer aquarium - 78 to 85 degrees would be fine. Being a Gourami, it does have a labyrinth organ and will surface regularly for air. Growing to a typical aquarium length of around six inches, it should be provided algae and plenty of vegetable matter in its diet.
Approximate arrival size for Pink Kissing Gourami: 1.5 to 3 inches
