A hardy, striking fish whose stately body stature helps with its popularity. Its coloration is a velvety copper and silver. Its eyes and pectoral fins are deep red. Its body displays three elongated spots and a distinct black spot, outlined in yellow. The dorsal fin of the Peacock Bass is a unique, sculpted shape. As a mature adult, a nuchal hump forms on males. Juveniles are indistinguishable. The Peacock Bass will readily accept pellet foods, worms, or small feeder fish.
