Orange Flame Moorii Cichlid
The Orange Flame Moorii Cichlid, Tropheus moorii 'orange flame', is endemic to the African rift lake Tanganyika. Like other freshwater fish from the rift lakes, aquarium water should be buffered to a specific pH level. For Tanganyikan Cichlids this range is 7.4 to 9.4 and several products are available to handle this requirement. The breeding stock of this fish hails from the Bemba region. T. moorii has a herbivorous diet primarily consisting of aufwuchs, which is a type of green algae. When spawning, females carry the young in their mouth. All captive raised cichlids offered by Pet Solutions are first generation offspring (F1) from wild caught stock. This allows us to offer the brightest colored cichlids available.
