Midas Blenny
Midas Blenny, Ecsenius midas, is an orange-gold, reef-safe aquarium fish. An Indo-Pacific inhabitant, it is commonly seen off the African Coast, through the Marquesas and Maldive Islands. This animated, relatively hardy character grows to a maximum length around 5 inches. Its size makes it perfect for large and for small aquariums. Midas Blennies do best one per aquarium, unless a great deal of space and Live Rock is provided. Also known as the Persian Blenny, it can inflict a painful, but not harmful bite. Regardless, fingers should be kept clear, as they may be attacked. It is an omnivore that will eagerly accept a variety of foods including Brine Shrimp, bloodworms, and Spirulina. Flake foods are accepted fairly readily.
