If a fishkeeper has patience and a large aquarium this fish makes an excellent addition to the home aquarium. It is a carnivore, so it may eat very small tank mates which may fit in its mouth but this is not an overtly aggressive fish. When introducing this fish to a new aquarium, it is best to have a variety of meaty frozen food available for it. Frozen clam meat, mussels, krill and silversides would all be good choices to feed and will give the fish a good variety for good health.
