Lineatus Wrasse
Lineatus Fairy Wrasse, Cirrhilabrus lineatus, is an Australian native identified by the vibrant blue-purple dotted striping on its pink body. It is from these markings that this fish is also called the Purplelined Wrasse. Yellow and orange finnage help accent the distinctive coloration of the Lineatus. Naturally found swimming in the waters of the infamous Great Barrier Reef, this carnivore adapts to aquarium life when offered a wide variety of meaty foods such as Brine Shrimp and zooplankton. Reaching a mature size of 5 inches and, typically, 3 inches in captivity, the Lineatus Wrasse is highly recommended for a reef aquarium. A sand bed and Live Rock should be provided for all Fairy Wrasses. They will bury themselves in the sand to sleep or hide. Live Rock provides numerous small life forms that the Wrasses consider a tasty treat as well as another place to hide when they feel threatened. Fairy Wrasses are "leapers" and require a covered aquarium.
