Leopard Danio
The Leopard Danio, Brachydanio frankei, makes quite a lively and colorful addition to your tank. This is especially true in a group, which as a schooling fish it is recommended to get two or more. The Leopard Danio is a community safe fish which originated in India. They are great for the beginner aquarist since they are a very hardy, peaceful fish, getting along with just about any tank mate of the same size. In captivity, they will grow up to 2.5 inches (6 cm) in length. The ideal conditions for Danios are a minimum of a ten gallon tank with a water temperature of 72-82º F. These fish are ideal for planted tanks since they do not harm the flora. The Leopard Danio is an easy keeper when it comes to feeding because he eats flake foods and brine shrimp.
