This fish becomes quite large when it reaches adult size, and any aquarist seeking to keep it in captivity should be prepared to have at least a six foot long aquarium to house it. It is a very active fish that usually doesn't bother tank mates, but when it gets large enough it can and will eat smaller fish that will fit in its mouth. In the wild they are found in large schools.
