Inspector Plecostomus L-201
Hypancistrus inspector is a small, docile Plecostomus that would do well in any tropical aquarium that does not contain aggressive fish. The Inspector pleco is native to parts of Venezuela, and will reach a maximum adult size of approximately 4 inches. This fish is not a vegetarian, but rather it is a carnivore that will prefer meaty foods. Frozen shrimp, blood worms, mosquito and insect larvae are all excellent food for this little fish. Fortified sinking pellets of some type would also benefit the fish as a supplement to provide balance to the diet.
Hiding places should be provided in any aquarium that will contain an Inspector Plecostomus, so that the fish has a safe place to go away from the movement of other aquarium residents if it feels threatened.
