Imported Yamabuki Ogon Japanese Descent Koi
These koi are referred to under a category of Hikarimono among Japanese koi collectors. Hikarimono means that they fish are of one color and have a metallic sheen to their bodies. The Yamabuki Ogon is a yellow/gold tint with a reflective metallic appearance. There is also a platinum white version of this fish called Platinum Ogon. The Yamabuki Ogon is a hardy fish which grows rapidly. The koi of Japanese descent we offer here at Petsolutions are AAA quality rated and hand picked for quality of not only color but also body conformation. When koi are shown at events in Asia, they are usually shown in round pools and they are always viewed from above. Koi when viewed from the side do not show their best color, as the majority of the pigment is on the top side of the fish.
Koi can grow to be quite large at adult size, so a large pond of hundreds or thousands of gallons is recommended for the koi to remain at its best. Many varieties of quality pellet and stick formula pond foods are available for koi, and will be the base of any koi diet.
