A schooling fish, mature specimens allow you to easily sex the two fish, the male will have very extensive, long fins. It will also have a rosy red coloration over the general golden color of the body. The fins will have a black fringe and there might be a few black splotches on the body. The female will have basically a golden body with just a hint of red. Growing to about 5 inches in length, the Long Fin Rosy Barb should be kept with medium to large Community fish. As an omnivore, they will eat most prepared aquarium foods and tend to school in the open areas of the tank. There should also be some vegetation to allow them a shelter for quiet times.
