Hebraicum Wrasse
Hebraicum Wrasse, Thalassoma hebraicum, is a fabulously-colorful, hardy, African native. Also known as the Goldbar Wrasse or the Necklace Squire, this carnivore adapts to aquarium life when offered a wide variety of meaty foods such as Brine Shrimp. In the wild, it can reach sizes up to 9 inches, but typically reaches 5 to 6 in the home aquarium. As with other members of genus Thalassoma, it is generally not recommended for a reef aquarium. A sand bed and Live Rock should be provided for all Wrasses. They will bury themselves in the sand to sleep or hide. Live Rock provides numerous small life forms that the Wrasses consider a tasty treat as well as another place to hide when they feel threatened. Multiple daily feedings are necessary to help keep this active fish in best health.
