Harptail Blenny
The Harptail Blenny (Meiacanthus mossambicus) is also known as the Mosambique fang blenny, and it gets that name from its teeth which are used as a defense against predators. This little fish stays in the 3 inch range at adult size, and is a great little fish to keep in a reef environment. This fish is an omnivore so it will eat both meaty and vegetable foods, but it is recommended that a diet leaning more toward meaty foods is fed in order to keep the fish at its best. This fish originates in the areas around East Africa, the Comoro Islands, and Madagascar. Care should be taken as this fish does have a venomous bite that should be considered equivalent to a bee sting.
