Halfmoon Damsel

Halfmoon Damsel, Dascyllus marginatus, is an uncommon Red Sea fish that has fairly commonly been made available to customers of PetSolutions. This fish, sometimes called the Marginate Dascyllus, will survive in about any water conditions. Groupings of Halfmoon Damsels make a great choice as fish used to cycle an aquarium, and is also a fish that is worthy of keeping afterward. It is an omnivore that thrives with a variety of prepared and frozen foods. Because it is a high energy fish, multiple-daily feedings will help to ensure best health. It will enjoy a great deal of Live Rock and coral, from which it will emerge and dart about. Damsels are hardy and are reef safe. They will school and swim actively at all levels of the aquarium. It is generally peaceful, but may be somewhat territorial and aggressive as an adult. As with most Damsels, the Halfmoon Damsel is a great fish for aquarists of all experience levels.
