Green Pavona Coral
Pavona decussata, is sometimes seen in shades of beige and brown, but is more common in green varieties. Green Pavona is also known as Lettuce or Potato Chip Coral due to the thin wafer-like leaves. It is a coral that requires moderate to high lighting levels and high water flow. Depending on the individual aquarium characteristics (lighting, water flow), it may do fine at any level of the aquarium. With proper water conditions, which include carefully monitored calcium levels and the addition of strontium, Pavona can do fine in the home aquarium. As with some other Polyped Corals, it sweeper tentacles will reach out at night and may damage other corals placed too closely. Pavona will benefit from feedings of any supplement designed for filter feeders. Iodine and strontium will help ensure its continued health.
