Gray Black Angelfish
Gray Black Angelfish, Pomacanthus arcuatus, swims in American waters from New England down the entire Atlantic Coast. Also found further south through the Caribbean down to Brazil, this hardy Angel is attractive and stately. It adjusts to aquarium life well when provided with a varied diet and pristine water conditions. As an active-swimming omnivore that can grow to large sizes in the wild, the Gray Black Angel should be fed multiple times daily. Brine Shrimp, scallop, or carnivore frozen preparations will do fine for its meatier tastes. Spirulina, algae sheets, or herbivore frozen preparations will suit its vegetarian side. The Angel is considered best kept in a fish-only aquarium as it may harm some Soft Corals, Clams, and Large Polyp Stony Corals. It requires plenty of swimming space and plenty of Live Rock where it can retreat when desired.
