Goniopora: Brown
Alveopora and Goniopora are two very similar species of coral that are commonly confused in the hobby. They are both commonly referred to as Flower Pot Coral. The difference between the two corals is that alveopora has 12 tentacles at the end of each polyp and gonipora has 24 tentacles at the end of each polyp. Both need moderate to high light. Both do best with moderate to high water movement, and should be placed about midway between the top and bottom of the aquarium. Both are moderately aggressive when competing for space, and this should be kept in mind when placing the coral in the aquarium. Both Alveopora and Goniopora would benefit from the addition of a food such as PhytoPlan or Marine Snow. Due to the limited knowledge about these corals and their care requirements, keeping them is best left to the advanced aquarist
