Golden Head Sleeper Goby
Golden Head Sleeper Goby, Valenciennea strigata, is an attractive member of the Goby family whose prosperity is dependent on a well-established reef aquarium with a great deal of Live Rock and Live Sand. It will sift sand through its gills, extracting organisms for nourishment. In addition, its carnivorous habits should be sated frequently with meaty foods such as Brine Shrimp, Blood Worms, or Black Worms. Dry and pellet foods might not be accepted, even after becoming accustomed to aquarium life. Also known as the Blueband Goby, its pearlescent body is highlighted by a golden head with a striking blue stripe. If more than one is to be introduced to the same aquarium, plenty of space and Live Rock should be provided as the two may quarrel initially as territories are established. Toward other species, the Golden Head Sleeper Goby is completely peaceful and is, overall, a great inhabitant of the reef aquarium.
