The edges of the aquarium should be planted to make it feel secure and to offer hiding places when threatened. Mature females will have a broader, stouter body than the male. The Danio is an egg scatterer breeder, usually breeding in shallow water. To protect the eggs, you can place the female and several males in a shallow filled tank with eggcrate or even marbles over the bottom. The eggs will fall into the cracks/crevasses and be protected from the adults. The Danio is an omnivore and will eat most all prepared aquarium foods. The Golden Giant Malabar Danio has a solid golden color with just a hint of the steel blue markings of the standard Giant Danio. The fins are a transparent white color.
